Welt

• The new world is called Copperdale and is a residential world.
• Copperdale is a quaint town with a rich history as a mining town, but the mines have now dried up.
• Copperdale was inspired by teen dramas like Riverdale and the Stephen King novels; the sleepy, idyllic town that is rocked when a terrifying discovery is made. Everything is picturesque but with a spooky undertone.
• 3 Bairros: Rockridge Heights, Prescott Square und Plumbite Cove
• All lots in Copperdale were built by Game Changers
• New batch type! Boba Tea Shop! The Boba Tea Shop in Copperdale doubles as a thrift store.
• Plumbite Pier has a carnival area with rides and attractions. It's a perfect place for a group of teenagers to hang out.
• The carnival has a haunted house, cart rides and a Ferris wheel. You can ride them alone or with friends. Both friendship and romance options are available during rides (yes, you can goof around and/or WooHoo on the rides), but it's more of a random map experience; You don't actually see them on the tours.
• Shopping for groceries and carnival snacks on the promenade.
• All families have deep backstories and knowledge associated with them. A lot of effort went into fleshing out the characters.
• Lots of little hangouts in Copperdale for teens to meet up as friends or get romantic.
• The water of the pier is swimmable and has a fishing spot. There is also another swimming hole that is more private.
• The houses reflect a typical teenage household; The rest of the house is decorated as parents wish, but the teenagers' rooms are wild with all their character and unique furnishings.

school life

• Multiple Sims in a household can attend high school together! For the first time, you can send multiple Sims to the same active career lot at the same time. This is incompatible with older active careers. The gurus said they would have to build this feature from scratch to make it work for their high school years. Older active careers cannot support you.
• You can decide whether or not you want to play your teens in high school. If you want to focus on other family members during school time, you can still send the teens to secondary school on their own if you want.
• New extracurricular activities appear in the calendar.
• The default high school style in Copperdale is Art Deco, but the school is fully customizable. You can tear it down and build a whole new school if you want, but not while Sims are actively participating in class.
• You cannot place high school lots on other worlds; Copperdale is the only high school location, but teenagers from all over the world can attend high school in Copperdale. You don't have to live in Copperdale to attend high school there.
• School is an active career. There are goals that you must achieve throughout the day in order to do well.
• Classes and exams are an important part of the school day, but more effort has been put into the socializing that takes place between classes.
• You can claim and customize your own locker.
• Classes are active! There are two classes per day. Themes change every day and develop different skills.
• Your performance in class determines your grades. You can stop finishing high school now! Some careers are closed to high school dropouts and they cannot go to university, but you can take online courses to graduate when you graduate from high school.
• Lessons are the smallest part of everyday school life. The gurus thought we would have more fun socializing and doing other activities, so cafeteria time, lunch breaks and extracurricular activities are the main focus of the school day.
• If you do really well in school, you could graduate at the top of your class.
• Maybe you have problems at school. Playing pranks on cabinets, messing around with the sound system and skipping class. You can get detention if caught.
• NPC relationship autonomy. Sims can now do things on their own like ask you out or break up with you!
• You don't automatically go home after the school day. You can join clubs after school and hang out with your friends.
• There are four extracurricular teams that you can join. Football, fans, chess club and computer club. You can attend at school or over the phone. By joining a team, you strengthen camaraderie with your teammates, but you also have to deal with a rival. Your rival is someone on your team who hates you because... a teen drama.

• Teens can invite their schoolmates to prom as romantic interests or as friends. There are new feelings related to the prom.

• You can cause a lot of drama at prom. For example, Sims might get very mad at you if you start dancing with a prom date!

General teenage life

• Wishes and Fears return to the base game, but there will be some Wishes and Fears exclusive to the High School Years pack. You will work differently than before.
• Sims have three desires: long-term, short-term, and reactionary. Unlike Whims, Wishes are more tailored to your Sim's unique traits. so no moreBUY A BEE BOX!!!
• Fears are developed through negative life experiences, but they are no longer just things to avoid. Your Sims can actually choose to face their fears and overcome them to overcome them forever.
• New selfie poses!
• New streaming options: Lifestyle and gaming streams, can watch other streamers.
• New part-time careers for teenagers; influencers and streamers. You can choose your own SimTuber avatar.
• New phone UI with a more app-based layout, similar to a real smartphone. There are many more themes/phone skins to choose from that change the theme of the phone in game, not just the UI color scheme.
• Social Bunny is a new active social media platform. View posts from other Sims, talk about your life on the social platform, react to posts, send DMs, add Social Bunny friends and @persons. Other Sims will also react and reply to what you post!
• More ways to hang out in beds! Sit cross-legged on the beds and have pillow fights on the beds. Sims can now also sit on the floor to relax.
• Teens can run away from home! New windows to crawl through and a lattice object to use as a ladder to get down from the second floor. You can also escape from the first floor and try to escape through the front and back doors.
• You can be invited to various events, movies, college parties, etc. You can ask your parents for permission, but if they say no, you can sneak out of the house. You can get caught running and get in trouble.
• New Boba teas can be ordered from the Boba Tea Shop. You can now drink from straws! The Boba Tea Shop is also a thrift store.

• Teens can take on viral challenges like the T-Pose Challenge. If you see teenagers posing, the gurus promise it's no glitch! They're doing the T-pose challenge for social influence! Teens need to learn about the latest viral challenges by talking about them with other teens.
• Teenagers will be on their phones all the time. They basically live like real teenagers in their phones.
• Teens can prank each other in a variety of places, including the carnival rides, but if caught, they can be banned from the ride for several days.
• There is a photo booth at the venue and on the pier.
• This pack includes new kills! Teens who feed off the city's Stephen King/Riverdale vibes can become entangled in urban legends, sometimes leading to their own downfall! There is a Bloody Mary style game that Sims can play in the mirror. Most of the time it's just a funny teen prank, but sometimes Bloody Mary can actually show up and scare your Sims to death! Playing pranks on certain objects can also go very wrong and kill your Sim, so watch out!
• Crushes are added to the game in the form of feelings!
• New WooHoo/Mess Around partners to be physically intimate with with no strings attached.
• Sims can ask each other about their sexual orientation (if they are friendly enough to that Sim).

CAS

• Clothing for teenagers. ALL Fashion is aimed exclusively at teenagers.
• A wide range of fashion styles for teenagers. Fashion inspired by Dark Gym, Kawaii, Y2K and E-Girl to suit a variety of Gen Z aesthetics.
• Clothes for different situations like going out, school and prom.
• Fashion is a big focus of the pack as teenagers express themselves through fashion.
• Some unlockable CAS items. You'll need to go to the Copperdale Thrift Store or search the Trendy app to access these pieces.
• Cheerleader clothing in different styles.
• Unfortunately, Copperdale High does not have official school uniforms, but there are some CAS school uniform pieces for storytelling.
• Sparse facial hair for a teenager going through puberty.
• BODY HAIR! Body Hair will be a free update to the base game, but some Body Hair presets are exclusive to High School Years.
• Ability to allow hair growth. Sims need to shave regularly to stay groomed. This can also be disabled.
• Acne originally came with Parenthood, but they were just presets in CAS. Teens now have wild acne and need to apply cream to keep it under control.
• Four new youth-specific endeavors focused on different aspects of school life. These aspirations are only available for teenagers. Each pursuit has a unique reward trait that follows your teenage Sim into adulthood.
• Likes and dislikes for new fashions at CAS.
• New socially awkward trait. Socially awkward Sims will be incredibly awkward around new people, but will find additional solace around close friends.
• Sexual orientation feature comes to base game! You can choose which gender your Sim is attracted to, whether they want to explore their sexuality, and which gender they want to court/fool around. You can choose one, both, or neither gender for all of these categories. For now it's a binary gender for technical reasons, but the gurus have plans to expand it and make it even more inclusive in the future.

Build/Buy

• A new player chair is added to the base game.
• Modular furniture.
• New curved walls are coming to the base game. Most windows and doors can be placed along curved walls. New filter in Build/Buy that allows you to easily find curve-compatible windows. Some windows also adapt to the wall!

• Computer with two monitors! Streamer setups with widescreen curve monitors. Lots of color changing LED lights.
• Too many mismatched styles to be realistic in a teen's bedroom.
